Rambling and hiking are popular pastimes in Normandy where hundreds of miles of hiking and recreational trails are provided, supported by an excellent infrastructure which enables people to explore the countryside at their leisure. Numerous footpaths wind through changing landscapes, criss-crossing the region, and meeting up with other tracks such as the numbered "GR" or Grande Randonnée routes which link Normandy with the rest of France and Europe. Suggested itineraries can be found in Tourist Offices. The area around Domfront is mainly open farmland, but the woodland is attractive and great for walks . You can enjoy a walk and then stop off for a coffee and cava. Lots of birds of prey to spot and look out for wild boar.

With miles of uncrowded open roads to enjoy, motorcyclists are generally well regarded. Here’s just a small selection or routes to enjoy: D22 - Tinchebray to La Haute-Chapelle in Normandy : A nice twisty route through rural Normandy.D514 - Caen to Honfleur in Normandy : The coast road running past the D-Day beaches with terrific views and lovely coastal towns. N138 - Alençon to Le Mans in Western Loire : Some magnificent long straights, perfect for just opening up the bikes throttle.  We are happy to cater for small groups of bikers (maximum 8 persons),  looking for a bit of relaxation in very comfortable surroundings, after a long days ride.  Motorbikes can be kept under cover securely and our games room, with informal bar arrangement is just the place to plan the next day’s outing , whilst enjoying some good French wine or beer on your doorstep.  Please note , although the farmhouse sleeps 4, another 4 persons can be accommodated in 2 large ensuite bedrooms in a separate section of the owners house just across the way.

France is a country created for cycle tourists, and Normandy a region of peaceful rivers, canals and gentle green ways. Pedalling along quiet local D-roads, with courteous drivers, croissants and pain au chocolats for breakfast, delicious French cuisine at the end of the day, you might think you’ve arrived in heaven. Accommodating small groups of cyclists ( maximum 8) why not stay with us and make the most of the French velo routes.
